Overcoming Opstacles

I just read this Great verse today and thought I would share it.

Exodus 13:17: "When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter" (NIV).

God did not lead the Israelites on a direct path from Egypt to the promised land. Instead, He opted for a route that avoided obstacles and challenged them to evaluate their hearts.

It is not always the shorter road that will get us where we need to be. And sometimes we need to take the longer road to learn. We must all evaluate our heart, and be sure that our hopes and dreams are for the good of all. Lets be smart and avoid dangerous territory. It might take a bit more time to get where we want to be, but we will be safe. I feel safe here.

Thats how I feel.

  • Reading your post reminded me of a song years ago that went like this. Slow down, you move to fast, got to make, the morning last, but, skipping down, the cobblestone, looking for fun and feelin' groovy.
